CHAPTER 7

I was completely speechless. I had never imagined I'd find her again... yet here she was, right in front of me. My emotions surged like a storm, but I held them back, making sure Kavyashree felt comfortable. Politely, I asked,
"What would you like to have, Ms. Sharma?"

"I'll have a cup of coffee. Thank you!!" she replied.

I placed the order for two cups of coffee. Silence settled between us, slightly awkward, as I quietly admired her. But her thoughts... they seemed elsewhere, lost in some other world.

When the coffee arrived, I decided to break the ice. "Where do you work, Ms. Sharma?"

"I work as a junior doctor at AIIMS Delhi... what about you, Mr. Singhania?"

I smiled, impressed. "That's great... and I'm the IAS Officer for Central Delhi District."

Kavyashree smiled back, a faint warmth in her eyes. "Great!!"

I leaned forward slightly. "Tell me something more about you..."

She raised an eyebrow, her voice tinged with curiosity. "Why are you so keen to know about me...?"

I wanted to know everything about her, but she wasn't opening up. Maybe she felt awkward; after all, it was our first real meeting. I decided to give her space.

After a deep breath, she spoke, her voice steady but earnest.
"Mr. Singhania... I need to tell you something..."

I sipped my coffee, encouraging her. "Yes... yes... sure..."

"I've worked day and night to become a doctor... so... it's not possible for me... to leave my job after marriage," she said, her gaze sincere.

I blinked, slightly confused. Why is she telling me this? I would never want a girl to give up her career for me.
"Ms. Sharma... when did I ask you to leave your job...?" I asked, gently.

She shook her head slightly. "You didn't say it, not now... Mr. Singhania... but you might tell me later. I've been rejected three times because of this. They didn't say anything when I met them... but later, they informed my parents that they didn't want me to work after marriage. So... I'm clearing everything right now."

I nodded, understanding her caution. "But... why would I stop you from working... and I'm no one to do that either..."

She smiled faintly. "Thank you... Mr. Singhania... but you might say it because... I'm a doctor... and many times... we don't get to go home... plus, I'll have night shifts also..."

I shook my head, a firm smile on my lips. "But, Ms. Sharma, it's your duty... how can anyone stop you from doing it?"

She hesitated, lowering her gaze. "Many people... even my parents think that... I shouldn't work... because... a girl's right place is in the kitchen..."

I felt a surge of shock and indignation. How can people in the 21st century have such a narrow mindset? I leaned closer, voice gentle but firm.
"Ms. Sharma... it's not at all like that... it's the people's narrow mindset... that's it..."

She looked at me, and for the first time, I felt a spark of connectionβ€”a mutual understanding of the world we live in, and the battles we fight every day.

I was genuinely amazed to hear those words from Shivansh. I had never met a guy who spoke like this... so understanding, so respectful...

As I was immersed in our conversation, my phone started buzzing. Shivansh noticed it and asked gently,
"Why are you not picking the call? It might be important..."

I picked it up. On the other end, the nurse's voice was urgent.
"Ma'am, there is an emergency..."

I furrowed my brows. "Did you inform Sumit sir...?"

The nurse hesitated. "But... ma'am, he's busy with another patient..."

Shivansh glanced at me, concern flashing in his eyes. "Is there any emergency, Ms. Sharma...?"

I nodded, a flicker of worry crossing my face. "Yes... there is an emergency at the hospital..."

He immediately understood. "Then you should reach there as soon as possible..."

I hesitated, a bit flustered. "B... but what about..."

Before I could finish, Shivansh had already paid the bill. His tone was firm yet kind.
"No buts... Dr. Sharma... you should never forget the oath you took..."

I turned to the nurse. "Send me the reports and prepare the necessary things... I'm on my way."

"Okay, ma'am," she replied promptly.

Shivansh guided his car toward the entrance. "Let me drop you... to the hospital..."

I slid into the seat, grateful. "Thank you very much, Mr. Singhania!!"

While on the way, I went through the reports the nurse had sent me. Every line, every detail needed my attention. No time to lose... every second counts.

Soon, we reached the hospital, and I could feel the adrenaline surge, ready to face the emergency head-on.

πŸ’žπŸ’žπŸ’žπŸ’žπŸ’žπŸ’ž

I dropped her at the hospital, and the moment Kavyashree rushed inside, I felt a strange mix of happiness and longing. I had finally met the girl I had been searching for... my dream girl was real, right in front of me.

I started my car and began driving back, my mind still replaying every detail of our meeting. Just then, my phone rang. I answered in one ring.

"Hey!! What's up, man? How was your meeting?" Nikhil's voice was filled with excitement.

I smiled, a little breathless from the rush. "Everything was good. The meeting went well... and I have good news for you..."

Nikhil's voice instantly brightened. "What!? Good news... for me...?"

"Yes... I found herβ€”the girl I saw at the party..." I said, feeling a thrill in my chest.

Nikhil nearly shouted with disbelief. "What?! But... how is that possible? You went to meet Mr. Sharma's daughter, right...?!"

I chuckled softly. "Yes... that's because...the girl I liked at the party... is none other than Mr. Sharma's daughter."

There was a long pause on the other side, then Nikhil's voice burst with joy. "Wow!! That's amazing... so, what's next?"

I hesitated, my heart tightening. "You know my answer... but..."

His excitement dimmed slightly. "But... again? What happened now...?"

I let out a deep breath. "I don't know if she feels the same about me..."

There was stunned silence. "What!? What are you saying? Didn't you ask her?" Nikhil's voice was a mix of disbelief and urgency.

I shook my head, even though he couldn't see me. How could I ask everything in the first meeting? "But how could I ask everything in the first meet itself? And she even got an emergency call from the hospital... so I dropped her and I'm going back now..."

My heart ached with uncertainty, but a spark of hope remained... she existed, she was real, and I would find outβ€”one way or another.
