Las Vegas
The night sky had taken over the silence of the city... but that underpass wasn't one of them.
That underpass was about to reveal the worst nightmare of many.
And there he stood—gun in his hand, blood dripping to the ground in slow, heavy drops from the same fingers gripping it. His collar was soaked in blood, yet his eyes... those metallic grey orbs held nothing. No rage. No fear. Nothing.
Those emotionless eyes fell on the man lying beneath his feet.
His gun aimed straight at him.
He pulled the trigger.
The loud echo of the gunshot ripped through the underpass.
But unfortunately, the shot missed—his aim disrupted as the man's gang members rushed in to help him.
"Bloody fuckers," he cursed under his breath, smashing one of them to the ground with brute force.
Within moments, the underpass had turned into a battlefield.
Shrijit Raichand was giving them a befitting reply—each move precise, each strike merciless. But they were four... and he was alone.
And as if the universe itself had decided to test him—he ran out of bullets.
"Damn it," he muttered under his breath.
"What will you do now, Raichand?" the man sneered, a humourless chuckle escaping his throat as he struck the lower part of Shrijit's head, forcing him back.
"You're gone now. See, this is what happens when you mess with the Jangs'," he added, tightening his grip around Shrijit's throat.
Shrijit looked at him.
A smirk tugged at his lips.
"What do you think... killing Shrijit Raichand is that easy?"
He attacked back, swift and brutal—but the man's grip only tightened.
"Surrender, bloody idiot, or I'll give you the worst possible death," he spat.
But Shrijit's smirk darkened.
Before the man could even realise what was happening—
Three gunshots rang through the air.
A woman's hand shot forward, wrapping around his neck in a deadly grip.
"He's my sworn enemy... and whoever even dares to touch him—will never live to narrate what happened before that," she whispered.
And in the next second—she beheaded him in one swift move.
She was clad in a black mask and a long black overcoat. Nothing except her ocean-blue eyes was visible.
Shrijit could only see those eyes.
Cold. Deep. Unreadable.
Before he could figure out who she was—
She disappeared into the darkness.
Reet Rathod.
Author's Note
Hope you people enjoyed the prologue. Shrijit still doesn't knows who she is, will he ever be able to figure out that was none other than his wife Reet Rathod?
